Inspiring Impactful Change

Unbroken began with one story that revealed a much larger need.

In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, our founder, Steph Rosario, learned about a survivor who was sexually assaulted after seeking medical care. After reporting the assault and undergoing a sexual assault evidence kit, the survivor was left without clean clothing or basic necessities while her belongings were taken as evidence.

That moment exposed a heartbreaking gap in survivor care and dignity during one of the most vulnerable times in a person’s life.

Moved to take action, Steph partnered with members of her local community in Sierra Vista, Arizona to organize donation drives supporting Lori’s Place, the Cochise County Family Advocacy Center. From 2020–2022, the community came together to donate clothing, undergarments, and financial support for survivors in need.

What started as a grassroots effort quickly grew into something bigger. Encouraged by the support of the community and fueled by years of experience serving as a credentialed military Victim Advocate, Steph officially founded Divide and Conquer in 2023.

As the mission evolved, so did the vision. In early 2026, the organization rebranded as Unbroken — a name that better reflects the heart of the organization: helping survivors restore hope, rise above trauma, reclaim their voice, and rebuild their lives through advocacy, community, and strength-based healing.

Today, Unbroken continues to serve survivors with the belief that no one should have to heal alone — and that what happened to a person should never define who they become.
